You will start to play offside from U11s onwards. Either a coach or parent will need to run the line during games. It is useful to get parents as well as kids familiar with the offside rule.

League Fines
The league will contact the club secretary and club league representative when a potential fine, against a Caversham AFc team, is made. The club will then contact the relevant team coach for more information to feedback to the league. If the fine is then upheld the club will contact the team coach for reimbursement and then pay the fine. The club don’t cover fines, imposed on teams, from the leagues.

Red and Yellow Cards
The club secretary will be contacted whenever a Red or Yellow card has been issued against a Caversham AFC player, by a referee.
The club secretary will contact the team coach to confirm the correct player was booked or sent off. Once the player’s identity has been confirmed the club secretary will request the money, to cover the fine, from the player/parent via the team coach. Prompt payment by the player or the player’s parent is expected. The club doesn’t cover the cost of Red or Yellow card fines. If a Red card has been issued the club secretary will implement the declared match suspensions, on the FA website, which is linked to the leagues.

Friendly Games
You are free to arrange friendly games to fill in a postponed fixture or building up to the new season.

While the club will cover the referee fee (during the season) it will not cover any additional costs with pitch hire.

Summer League

Some leagues run a summer league between May and July. They can be especially useful when you are moving format (e.g. 7 a-side to 9) to experiment before the start of the new season.

You should look out for communications around February/March timeframe. These can be popular so do not delay with responding.

Summer leagues are not covered as part of the player subscriptions.

Tournaments

Once the seasons finish, there are usually several tournaments hosted by clubs. These are played across half days over the weekends depending on age groups and provide a fun social element to the football.

The games are usually smaller sided (e.g. 5 or 6 a-side) even with the older age groups.
